Additional Highlights of the New Elmhurst Memorial Hospital
- All of our inpatients will stay in private suites complete with a restroom, shower and ample space for family and friends. Add amenities like internet access, room-by-room temperature controls and custom-cooked meals, and you will have a "home away from home."
- Identical rooms promote safety and efficiency and have been proven to reduce errors. Based on the experience of the aerospace industry that shows standardization leads to a safer work environment, all of our inpatient rooms will be identical, instead of mirror images of each other.
- Our second floor interventional platform places all of the procedural areas on the same floor to maximize efficiency and flexibility. Whenever possible, related services have been strategically grouped together to further improve efficiency.
- Our new Emergency Department will respect your needs at your most vulnerable time. By replacing traditional curtained bays with individual rooms with doors and restrooms, as well as providing dedicated family waiting areas, we will ensure that you have the privacy to converse openly and comfortably with your caregivers.
- Thanks to decentralized nursing stations assigned to every 12 rooms, our staff will be equipped to observe you more closely and respond to your needs more quickly. In other words, they will spend more time doing what they love - helping patients - and less time walking the halls.
- Food fosters both physical health and emotional comfort. So, forget everything you've heard about hospital food - here, you can make tasy and nutritious selections from a varied menu or request made-to-order meals from our cafe.
